Mosaic

Past Lives Studio, LES Collection, Piscina, Casa Patina, Studio Nordic, and Luke Malaney

May 25 - June 6

Brooklyn-based studio, Past Lives Studio, is pleased to debut 'Mosaic,' a group exhibition featuring works from Past Lives Studio, LES Collection, Piscina, Casa Patina, Studio Nordic, and Luke Malaney. The two-week exhibition will kick off on Thursday, May 25th, during NYCxDesign, at The High Line Nine Gallery in Chelsea, New York. Each artist and dealer was hand-picked by Carly Krieger, founder of Past Lives Studio, because of their bold and unique approach to art and design.

In her own sourcing practice, Krieger collects vintage pieces originating from the early 1900’s to the 1990’s, blending a host of diversified styles, including modern Italian, Scandinavian, brutalist, art nouveau, and art deco. 'Mosaic' takes this blended approach to design a step further through the addition of contemporary pieces by a group of talented independent artists and makers. She holds the belief that “the most dynamic spaces are achieved through weaving together different design styles, materials, and periods. Typically, the contemporary and vintage worlds exist in separate exhibition spaces and contexts, but 'Mosaic' is a destination for design lovers to come appreciate these unique works together ”

United by a passion for soulful and eclectic design, each artist and dealer in 'Mosaic' brings a distinct perspective that, when combined, creates a layered and eclectic aesthetic. 'Mosaic' was born from the concept that when unique pieces of art and design are brought together, a beautiful scene evolves. Each New York-based participant has curated a group of works that compliments the whole while fusing the experience of a gallery exhibition with a retail pop-up.
